Included in the MACBA Collection is a model of a public sculpture by Susana Solano that was installed in the Vall d’Hebron area of Barcelona during the 1992 Olympic Games. Conceived in 1986, it is one of the artist’s first public sculptures and has a very personal title. In a 2015 interview, Solano explained: ‘Dime, dime querido has very personal connotations from the time I made the work. There is always a personal experience behind each of my works.’ Only by looking closely at the sculpture can we appreciate the diversity of perspectives that these three large volumes made of steel plates can achieve. With a height of seven metres, it generates openings and closures, right angles, stepped inclinations and frictions that allude, in a very physical way, to the constant inner flow of human life. It is located in Barcelona, at the intersection of Avinguda Martí i Codolar and the Isadora Duncan passage.
