Be-Bomb. Be-Bomb: the Transatlantic War of Images and all that Jazz
Today, the study of French and American post-war art history poses a major challenge. According to the exhibition curator Serge Guilbaut, images, symbols, culture and art played a crucial role in the Hollywood-like megaproduction that was the Cold War, becoming the favourite weapons of both sides as soon as it became apparent that it would be unthinkable to use the atomic bomb again. This publication contains articles by a number of specialists, as well as texts that illustrate the differences between the aesthetics that developed on the two sides of the Atlantic.
