Open house event Festes de La Mercè 2023

Once again, MACBA joins in with the festivities of the city of Barcelona! On September 24, we are organising an open day where you can visit our exhibitions for free and enjoy the guided tours.

Here are the exhibitions you can visit. No need to prior book:  

• MACBA Collection: Prelude. Poetic Intention, a group exhibition that rehearses new dramaturgies for the museum, putting the artwork at the centre, to connect with its poetic intentions, energy and emancipatory potential. 
• Laura Lima. Balé Literal, a large mobile installation of dance artefacts that invite us to move, interact and experience the museum space in different ways.
• Corpus Infinitum is a cinematographic installation project in which Denise Ferreira da Silva and Arjuna Neuman question the hierarchy of human beings over nature in the current context of the climate emergency. 
• Nancy Holt / Inside Outside is the first major European exhibition that explores the artistic legacy of Nancy Holt, who, since the seventies, has been a key figure in the American art scene and a pioneer in the field of site-specific installations and the moving image.

Discover the Reading and family space at the MACBA Collection: Prelude. Poetic Intention on the ground floor of the Study Centre. A place to hang out, relax and share moments together. A space for children to play, but also a corner for reading, learning and conversation. Here you can explore a wide array of publications about the exhibition artists and their works.

As every year, we will be launching our usual MACBA BOOKS special sale, which offers a selection of MACBA books at a single price of 6 euros. It will take place at the MACBA Store Laie from September 20 to 25. Check the opening times of the bookshop.
