Let’s visit the exhibition Suburbia at the CCCB  Activity only for MACBA Friends

We invite the Friends of the MACBA to visit Suburbia: Building the American Dream, an exhibition at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). 

Suburban America is closely linked to the mental image of a single-family house in a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by a garden, with a pool and a couple of cars in the garage. This “American dream” has been reproduced hundreds of times in films, series, photographs, comics and paintings. 

This exhibition presents how this urban model emerged, how it has evolved and how it has expanded. It also explores its political, social and environmental implications and consequences.
