On Santa Eulàlia’s Day, popular culture takes to the streets. Giant puppets parade, and schools prepare the children’s Manifesto, as full citizens under the Convention for the Rights of the Child, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1989. At MACBA, everything is ready. With artists’ books exhibited on every level, screenings of the occupation by children of Stockholm’s Moderna Museet in 1968, in a project by the young Danish activist Palle Nielsen, and installations using school furniture from the workshops organised in 2011 in more than thirty spaces in different countries by the Colombian artist Iván Argote, who taught and encouraged children to express their own opinions and defend their civil rights. We hope you can join us, in a visit to the exhibition of the Collection and our new reading and family space for all ages.
