Öyvind Fahlström. Another Space for Painting

Through his work, Öyvind Fahlström offers a singular representation of the world. Fahlström was a nomadic artist who travelled to marginalised and peripheral areas in many countries, and created works – sometimes maps, islands and continents, or ‘variable paintings' – which pushed the language of comics to the limit. His work encourages an ethical reading of the representation of the planet, greater social commitment and the active involvement of the spectator.
