Translocaliais a network to plan for the future through art; a community of practice that works mainly with female professionals to challenge and transform the status quo. It is a flexible infrastructure to test ideas and research local contexts to create artistic micro-projects and participatory actions. Translocalia works as an instrument to influence systemic changes through art.
Translocalia is curated by Lavinia Filippi and Amanda Masha Caminals.
Lavinia Filippi has worked in institutions such as Castello di Rivoli in Turin and NCA in Lahore. Amanda Masha Caminals has worked in institutions including INIVA and Autograph ABP in London and Casa Triângulo in São Paulo. They are both graduates of the MA Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art in London.
While there are ideas about psychological and emotional developmental processes held within the sculptures I make, the things themselves are actual physical explorations into thinking, feeling, communicating and relating.
