Guided tour through the history of the Raval neighbourhood Exclusive activity for the Friends of the MACBA
6:30 pm
Exclusive activity for MACBA Friends. Free, advance booking required. Limited capacity.
We invite the Friends of the MACBA to take a guided tour of the Raval to get deeper understanding of the neighbourhood where the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona is located.
During this tour, we will take a trip back one thousand years in time, from the 21st to the 12th centuries, through buildings from different eras. We will pay attention to each, many of which are not covered by the guidebooks and tourist circuits of the city, to listen to the stories of the people with whom they have lived throughout these years. We will know the peasant, industrial, religious and school Raval.
We will begin the tour with its most recent history, the MACBA Meier Building, until reaching its most distant past, the former monastery of Sant Pau del Camp.
Tour guided by the historian Martí Boneta i Carrera.
