Born in Glória de Dourados, Brazil, Pedro Torres lives and works in Barcelona. With a body of work focusing on the use of the image, but also on sculptural objects and complex installations, he is interested in the concepts of time, distance, memory and language as the basis for his research projects, often with scientific approximations. Thus, his work is a balance between the conceptual element and aesthetics and poetics, between methodology and the immediacy of intuition. The image, broadly understood, is always present as a mechanism, tool and concept on which to structure and question certain axes, such as the relationship between the formation of memory and images, the links between image, history and language, and the appropriation and decontextualisation of the image.

Solo exhibitions include Blueproject Foundation, Barcelona (2014); Centro Párraga, Murcia (2011); Spazio Volta, Bergamo (2022); and Centre d’Art Tecla Sala, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (2022). His video work has been exhibited in various festivals in Europe, South America and Asia, such as Mardin Biennial, Turkey (2015); Bienal de las Fronteras, Mexico (2015); NC-arte, Bogotá (2016); BienalSUR, Buenos Aires (2017); art3 | art contemporain, Valence (2021); and LOOP, Barcelona (2022), among others.
