Isadora Romero is an Ecuadorian visual storyteller based in Quito. Her work focuses on human identities, gender and environmental themes, including the relationship between humans and agriculture and the preservation of agro-biodiversity in Latin America. She is the co-founder of Ruda Colectiva, a female-led Latin American photography collective. She has exhibited her work at individual shows in Ecuador and at group shows in other countries. Among her main achievements are the global and regional prize at the World Press Photo Open Format Award 2022 for her video La sangre es una semilla, the Marilyn Stafford Award 2021, and second place in the environmental category at POY Latam 2021. She has been selected for the Magnum Foundation PSJ Fellowship 2021 and the World Press Photo 2020 Joop Swart Masterclass. She is also an educator and member of Women Photograph, Foto Féminas and Diversify Photo.
