"I take elements from the world around me, remove them from their ordinary contexts, and put them back together according to some other order. Through the new and unusual relationships that arise, through contrast, similarity or inference, I re-examine that which we call 'reality'."
Guided by the words of Eulàlia Grau and by the experience of visiting her exhibition I Have Never Painted Golden Angels, we will discover new artistic ingredients that lie hidden in our everyday lives, in advertising, and in the images that invade us through the mass media. On the guided tour, we will analyse Eulàlia Grau's works and see how she combined these materials in order to generate pieces with multiple meanings.
We will then finish the activity by making a group collage, in which all participants will experiment with the expressive potential of these new artistic ingredients.
