After studying Fine Arts at the Universitat de València, she spent time at the Carnegie Mellon School of Art, Pittsburgh (USA) and Winchester School of Art, Southampton (UK). Since 2003, she has lived and worked in Barcelona. With a subtle work that spans both two- and three-dimensions, Arza is interested in the physical and material dimensions of words and writing. From the pages of books, she meticulously dissects texts, words and phrases with great virtuosity, erasing them, cutting them out or incorporating them into new volumetric forms. Thus, carefully extracted from their original context, the words acquire new meanings, either conceptually, verbally or visually.
