Joan Brossa explica que el Partit Socialista Unificat de Catalunya va homenatjar-lo durant La Festa del Treball de 1984; a l'acte d'homenatge Joan Brossa va llençar unes octavetes des d'un globus aerostàtic que contenien el poema "Saltamartí", pertanyent a la seva obra titulada "El saltamartí" (1963).
