Recommendations for visitor
The quietest time to visit the museum is from Monday to Friday starting at 2 pm and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. This is the least crowded time, as there are usually no school or group visits.
During the summer, we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater. We modify the temperature and humidity indoors depending on exterior conditions. This helps to preserve the pieces on display and increases energy efficiency.
Your entrance ticket allows you to visit as many times as you want within one month of activation at the reception desk. We recommend spreading your visit out over multiple days. This will give you a better look at our exhibits, and will let you spend more time on pieces that inspire you.
Visiting school groups are allowed to make sketches using dry drawing instruments. However, please request permission beforehand at educacio@macba.cat.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. We want your visit to be both stimulating and safe. Please remain with children at all times, and ask museum staff before touching any pieces.
For security reasons and in order to make your visit more enjoyable, backpacks and other large objects must be left in the lockers in the cloakroom. Two different sizes of lockers are available: 44 x 38 x 46 cm, and 88 x 38 x 46 cm. We do not have lockers for bigger objects such as bicycles, scooters or large suitcases.
