A SHORT CENTURY: MACBA COLLECTION
Laura Arensburg
As we arrive from the street – with our own bodies and knowledge – we will dialogue with contemporary art in order to disrupt the limits of this short twentieth century. We will cross the white walls of the Museum, shaking up our perceptions so that our eyes listen, the artworks smell us, our own images feel the works in the Collection and our movements become flavoursome.

Ricardo Cárdenas
“Secrets, Filtrations and Contradictions”. This visit highlights a selection of works that articulate a constellation of trends in art and artists from the 20th century to the present, structuring bridges to bring us closer to the figure of the artist as an active political subject and art as a disputed sphere of action for social and historical reflection that takes us inside contemporary production. Ricardo Cárdenas emphasizes his journey through the different tensions and socio-political contexts that contextualize the MACBA Collection’s exhibition A Short Century, focusing on the media and practical and discursive strategies in which artists make use of different formal, philosophical and material resources to promote critical discourses within their works.

Itxaso Corral Arrieta.
The paranormal can be, for example, that which is incompatible with our normal perceptions, beliefs and expectations regarding reality. This visit invites us to a paranormal encounter with the Museum. A meeting with everything that makes the Museum and more: the great beyond. It is certainly not a normal visit. Yes, unexpected things will happen to us through our bodies. Yes, we will hear voices from other dimensions and, perhaps, we will acquire several different permeable skills. At the very least – and this is guaranteed – we will spend an hour imagining together.

Alba Rihe
“I COULD DO THAT MYSELF”. Under this title, Alba Rihe offers a guided tour in the form of a game where the museum is transformed into a kitsch trivia contest about the MACBA’s permanent collection. Sound effects and peculiar content from the artists represented in the white cube. Completely free! Don’t miss it! We’ll see you at 5.00 p.m. or 6.30 p.m.

CHARLOTTE POSENENSKE: WORK IN PROGRESS
A dialogue about and with the work of Charlotte Posenenske on the idea of art production as a commitment to life. These visits take as their starting point what we could consider the most “radical” gesture of productivism: Charlotte Posenenske’s decision to leave behind art to train as an industrial sociologist and specialize in the production methods of the assembly line until her death in 1985. These tours will reveal the invisibilized works of art while examining the possibilities and limits of the art institution.

Antonio Gagliano (Córdoba, Argentina, 1982) is a visual artist. His projects use drawing and writing to explore the different ways in which knowledge is manufactured, organized and disseminated. He has been selected for awards such as the arteBA-Petrobras Visual Arts Prize (Buenos Aires, 2013) and Generación 2018 (Madrid, 2017), among others. His publications include The Spirit of the 20th Century (Álbum, 2014), Buno (Fundació Joan Miró, 2014) and Estado de la técnica (Verlag für Handbücher, 2018).

Albert Tarrats (Barcelona, 1988)
His work centres on the field of sound, mostly through experimentation with improvisation ensembles, construction of sound objects and devices and exploration of alternate formats of listening and relating to space. He has presented installations with collectives and friends at a number of Barcelona festivals and regularly collaborates with other artists in developing his pieces. Together with Adrià Juan he composes and performs live with choreographer Raquel Klein, with whom he will debut the piece Wu Wei in long format at Mercat de les Flors after having presented it previously in medium format at La Caldera as part of the 2018 Quinzena Metropolitana de Dansa (Metropolitan Dance Fortnight).
