This seminar, with a markedly multidisciplinary character, continues the debate initiated back in November on the so-called "high culture" and "popular culture", in which Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Greil Marcus, Andreas Huyssen and Alexander García Düttmann took part. This second engagement with the subject puts forward other perspectives, questioning the traditional distinction between an elitist public sphere in opposition to a plebeian public domain on the basis of analysis of the profound transformation of the production and the consumption of culture in contemporary society.
