Thames Circles, 1991
In this installation from 1991, Long evokes the archetypal form of the circle. In the installation at the MACBA in 1991, he adapted it to the space, arranging the slate stones in 15 concentric circles, the largest of which was 12 metres in diameter. The whole evokes ancient prehistoric symbols and creates an analogy between the patterns of nature and the formalism of the mind.
