Playgrounds Kids at the Museum
Barcelona, Amsterdam, New York, Johannesburg, Soweto, Damascus, Berlin… How do children’s playgrounds in most cities in the world resemble each other? How do they differ? Peter Friedl likes to put himself in children’s shoes with different works about childhood, such as his photographic series Playgrounds. An essay on first childhood experiences in a public space, it includes about six hundred images projected simultaneously onto five monitors placed at the height of children’s eyes.
