Can art be at the service of politics without denying itself or, on the other hand, does its pretensions of autonomy mask its participation in power games? The relationship between art and politics, which has oftentimes been approached as a one existing between two separate and well defined ends, is not, in fact, a relationship in light of the fact that pure art and politically committed art are two sides of the same coin. In this text, Jacques Rancière develops this perspective.
