In the course of revising and studying its Collection, MACBA published a series of monographic dossiers on the most representative artists in its catalogue. The series was launched with a dossier on the work of Pepe Espaliú that focused mainly on the sculptures he produced between 1988 and 1993. It analyses the influence of Jean Genet on this Andalusian artist and highlights some of the distinctive characteristics of his work, such as darkness and the void.
