Barcelona 1978-1997. Manolo Laguillo

This book's historical and geographical overview begins with Manolo Laguillo's earliest work, produced in the period between 1978 and 1983 when he himself admitted that he was fascinated by all things ‘tacky', and concludes with a series produced in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (on the outskirts of Barcelona), in 1997. Between these two, Languillo explored some of the key landmarks involved in the transformation of Barcelona in the late 1980s as a result of the Olympic Games. Laguillo's work offers a photographic reconstruction of a major process of change that began in the 1980s and culminated in the following decade.
