Presentation of a work by Patricia Esquivias In the framework of the exhibition 'Before Our Eyes'
The artist Patricia Esquivias (Caracas, 1979) uses a mix of found images, stories and personal anecdotes to reflect on contemporary culture. To coincide with the exhibition Before Our Eyes, Esquivias will present her installation El pueblo español tiene un camino que conduce a una estrella (There is a way for the Spanish people that leads to a star), 2013–14. Under the formal guise of a lecture, Esquivias will connect this sculpture by Alberto Sánchez –which was placed outside the Spanish Pavilion at the 1937 International Exposition in Paris–, with the Rif mountains in Morocco.
Work produced in collaboration with MACBA.
