PornoBurqa – PornoBurka – Desventuras del Raval y otras f(r)icciones contemporáneas [Misadventures of the Raval and other contemporary f(r)ictions] is a novel ‘on speculated cities and false identities that see burqas in the eyes of others but never the plank in their own’.

Written by Brigitte Vassallo, it is set in the post-Olympic Barcelona. The foreword is by Juan Goytisolo and the presentation will be by the philosopher Marina Garcés. During this there will be a projection of images of the Raval and the old Barrio Chino.

SYNTHESIS
The novel revolves around four characters obsessed by labels and unable to accept their contradictions and multiple inclinations. The stage, the Raval district of Barcelona, emerges as a metaphor for the spectacle as a substitute for life.
