As part of the ongoing programme of teacher training, MACBA invites you to discover the new temporary exhibitions of Ahlam Shibli and Eulàlia Grau, two proposals tracing an uncomfortable parallel with the present.

In the case of Ahlam Shibli (Palestine 1970), we propose a guided visit to explore this artist’s photographic work, describing the contradictory implications behind the traditional notion of home, from the concept of an individual body to the collective identity associated to the idea of community.

For the work of Eulàlia Grau (Terrassa 1946), the proposal consists in a specific educational project: a visit-workshop to bring students closer to Grau’s artistic process. Using images from the contemporaneous media as material for her art, the artist denounces the way the press serves the interests of a controlled, censured, unjust and male dominated society.
