Expressart. Portable museum course (2013-2014)
The course is aimed at teachers of nursery school, primary school and first- and second-year secondary students
The purpose of this course is to pool efforts in order to explore all the possibilities that can arise from Expressart, a project that has been specifically designed to generate different kinds of learning through a skill-based, interdisciplinary approach based on contemporary art – more specifically, on a selection of artists and works from the MACBA Collection. The sessions will look at some key concepts in relation to contemporary art, and provide information about the works and artists that are included in the project. The idea is to help teachers to design and implement classroom activities that ensure the feeling of success of all the girls and boys who take part in it. To this end, the course describes some of the methodological strategies that can be used to achieve this.
The course also aims to make participants aware of the enormous creative and expressive potential of every individual, and to trigger the creativity of every teacher through the uninhibited use of visual, sculptural and artistic language as a way of sharing ideas, feelings and emotions.
All courses are given by Marta Berrocal Capdevila, creator of the project Expressart and are recogonized by the Catalan Department of Education as on-going teacher training activity.
