In 1977 Eva Lootz presented her conceptual work in Barcelona at Galería G, on Casanova Street, a space that worked with Galería Buades in Madrid, emphasising connections with artists from that city such as Nacho Criado and Lootz herself. Better known for her sculptural work and post-minimalist installations, in this early work the Austrian artist, based in Madrid since 1967, shows her interest in nature, making direct reference to the fragility and vulnerability of the human condition. As with other projects in this exhibition, Lootz addresses the human body through concepts of fragmentation and tracing, further exploring the idea of a blind spot or dead angle, where gestures that are not particularly evident refer indirectly to uncertainty.
