The trip to the drift, the investigation on the journey, the displacement and the movement is one of the constants of the work of Alvargonzález. The journey, both physical and metaphysical, becomes a way of knowledge and a source of experimentation. Alvargonzález conceives movement as a part of the human condition that metaphorically translates into a constant coming and going in search of what can be completed in time. A journey that refers to the continuous human transformation, to the nomadism of ideas, to the deconstruction of the frontiers of philosophy. A journey between the visible and the invisible, between the real and the unreal. A journey adrift that drags us into the unknown and into the depths of being. An interior and exterior trip -by land, air and water- represented by maps, highways, bridges, train tracks, suitcases, clouds, airports, airplanes, ships ... All governed in your diaries and navigation notebooks, images, sculptures and installations. Old suitcases, chimerical, surprise boxes, scrapbooks containing mirrors and lighting elements inside. Luggage that evoke time, transit, memory, always transformed by the deformed reality of mirrors. Mirrors reflecting the soul and a reality that flees, as a paradox between the possible and the impossible. Press dossier, Chema Alvargonzàlez. MEHR LICHT (Más luz), Arts Santa Mònica, 2011.
