The installation Deaf Dance presents the tap dance troupe Bosanski Vidici, from the Glamoc region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose members are Bosnian immigrants to Düsseldorf. Traditionally, such tap dance troupes carry out choreographies without musical accompaniment. Holding hands, the dancers listen to the voice of the troupe's leader and follow his brief instructions to execute the steps and movements. The dancers wear costumers from the world of theatre, of different historical periods, instead of their traditional regional garments. By this means, Danica Dakic seeks to emphasise the themes of cultural identities and misunderstandings, disagreements and tensions that surround this subject around the world today. Dakic thus uses dance as a universal language: "People say that dancing is universal, that everyone can relate to and connect with it”, states the artist.

During the course of the video, the Baroque images showing the bodies of the dancers in movement, with their feet and heads outside of the visual frame, become highly visually effective. As the artist herself explains, her goal is to focus attention on the details, on the tiny differences which have greater potential than sweeping views or panoramic effects.
