Sampler Series reflects L’Auditori’s support for new music by offering a range of contemporary performances that involve elements of R&D in the field of music. The programme is presented at various contemporary art venues in Barcelona and works with international festivals and projects new creative music. Works range from written scores to free improvisation, from acoustic instruments to electronic devices, from performance music to sound installations and video art.

For the second consecutive year, MACBA collaborates with L’Auditori de Barcelona by hosting one of the projects in the Sampler Series programme. This time, MACBA presents Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, a group that experiments with new sounds and vocal techniques and new forms of articulation, and, above all, makes a constant effort to work closely with composers. This has placed Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart at the forefront of the new repertories of vocal music, with a special interest musical theatre, interdisciplinary projects with electronics, video, the visual arts and literature, and projects that combine early music with contemporary styles.
