For La Mercè, trip out with the MACBA Collection: we’re revisiting the psychedelic 60s through the experimental and liberated art of the decade. The oneiric and ground-breaking spirit of work by artists like Jaume Xifra, Sture Johannesson and Neville d’Almeida comes to the museum to offer you an open house that is sure to be interesting. We will also see the impact of feminism, beginning in the 70s, through the work of Nancy Spero and Jo Spence.

Take a trip with us, and then we’ll jump forward a few decades to immerse ourselves in the sonic and graphic universe of Christian Marclay and his compositions, video installations and experimental pieces. The Swiss-American artist’s exhibition will be leaving MACBA on 24 September, having invited us to reflect, feel, and see through sound.

Plus, the much anticipated MACBA BOOKS is back with the intensity of the guitar riffs from Sgt. Pepper’s. Pick up the museum’s publications for just 6 euros and pair your reading with one of the delicious culinary offerings from the new MACBA Cafè.

At MACBA, La Mercè is going psychedelic.
