UNBAPTISED INFANTS

After graduating in 2015 from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, choreographers and performers Hannah Parson (United Kingdom) and Lorea Burge (Spain/United Kingdom) founded the collective Unbaptised Infants. Using this platform, they carry out creative and research processes involving dance, poetry, singing, voice and popular folklore. Their performances and choreographies speak to us of being together, of coming together around rituals.

In RITUAL, the project with which both of them are participating in Artists in Residence, Parson and Burge explore the possibilities of interactive dance that is intertwined with sound performance and is done in city squares, as these are places of community encounter after the isolation of the pandemic. Basing themselves on the study of Basque folklore and popular culture, the artists suggest an updating of said traditions, integrating non-hierarchical, feminist and antiracist principles.
