Open Call from 1st to 30th March 2021

Artists in residence is a joint programme run by La Casa Encendida and MACBA Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona to encourage creation and research which centres on performative work with the body.

The residence has a maximum duration of eight weeks at the installations of these two institutions between June 2021 and May 2022. The schedule and work spaces will be agreed in relation to the project's necessities and the disponibility of space at the centres.

This year the open call for Artists in Residence has received a total of 244 projects. We thank all those submitted for their interest in the open call and for sending in their projects.

The selected artists for the programme Artists in Residence 2021 are:

  • Raquel G. Ibañez + Ylia: How to disappear
  • Renan Araujo and Julia Coelho: Öyvind Fahlström Títeres Show
  • Sofia Asencio: Noche Cañón
  • Sonia Noya and Eduard Mont de Palol: La Dernière Mode
  • Unbaptised Infants (Hannah Parson and Lorea Burge): RITUAL
