L'escultura. Creacions paral·leles (1). Metàfores del real

The sketches made in the process of preparing a sculpture are more than simply a planning tool: drawing is a means of expression that conveys something essential about the way we are. Based on this premise, six artists – Miquel Navarro, Claes Oldenburg, Mario Merz, Jaume Plensa, Jannis Kounellis and Juan Muñoz – emphasised the physicality of drawing and explored their experience through this ‘metaphor’ of their work. As the curator Teresa Blanch pointed out, the 130 illustrations, biographical notes on the artists and thematic bibliography presented in the project were in a sense ‘an amplification of the sculptors’ thoughts.’
