A visual artist, writer and film critic, Marla Jacarilla develops her work through techniques such as performance, video art and installations. She continually seeks links between plastic art, cinema, new technologies and literature to develop a fragmented narrativity sprinkled with fiction that the viewer is invited to recompose. She has participated in collective exhibitions at MACBA, the Antoni Tàpies Foundation, Fabra i Coats Centre for Contemporary Art, La Panera Art Centre, La Capella, Arts Santa Mònica and Centre del Carme. Winner of the PostBrossa 20 contest (Fundació Joan Brossa), the Escletxes call for support for artistic research and production awarded by the Museum Consortium of the Valencian Community, the BBVA Foundation video art grant, the Guasch Coranty Foundation grant and the Bòlit Mentor scholarship, among others. In 2012 she published Mecánica de la desidia, her first novel.
