Núria Guiu

Núria Guiu is a dancer and choreographer from Mollet del Vallès, currently based in Barcelona. She graduated from the Institut del Teatre in classical dance. She has worked as a dancer and choreographer with both national and international companies. She is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor and a student in the Anthropology and Human Evolution degree programme at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). The relationship between body-image-power-digitality has been one of the most prevalent axes in her works, which reflect on the construction of the gaze and identity, the social body, the power of images, the datification of bodies or the commodification of spirituality, among other topics. Likes and Spiritual Boyfriends are her latest solo works. The two pieces premiered in Barcelona and she has toured with them in both Catalonia and national and European festivals and theatres. Likes was a piece selected on the European Aerowaves 2018 platform and has won several awards in Catalonia. Núria Guiu was an associate artist at the Graner creation centre for dance and live art in Barcelona during the period 2021-22, and is currently an artist in residence at the Mercat de les Flors 2022-23.
