As an institution committed to promoting culture, MACBA believes accessibility is a fundamental human right. To coincide with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we offer a visit with sign language to the exhibition Miserachs Barcelona, and a tour of the current exhibition of the MACBA Collection, Desires and Necessities, adapted for visually impaired people with Braille texts and tactile images.

We invite you to visit the space of interpretation ‘Approach the Collection with your Senses’. In this room, visitors are invited to touch, hear and smell recreations of parts of the works prepared by the Museum’s Department of Conservation and Restoration.
MACBA is equipped with ramps, lifts to every floor, adapted toilets and a magnetic loop at the entrance to the Museum. We also offer two wheelchairs and monocular lenses on loan.

Including the concept of accessibility in the Museum’s exhibition programme allows us to reach a larger audience and provide a richer enjoyment of the artistic experience.
