Since its implementation more than six years ago, the activities of the food recycling collective have remained rich and diverse. These focus on questioning the food overproduction of consumerist capitalism and the society of waste. This unbridled hyper-consumerism culminates in the waste of perfectly good food simply because of aesthetic concerns, mismanagement and market demands. The activist network aims to satisfy the basic need for food through mutual support and solidarity based on the politicisation and management strategies of food collection routes. The weekly collection of food products and their distribution are organised collectively and horizontally under assembly; at the same time, different activities are conducted to create bonds of trust and empathy among the participants. Through the network, surplus food that would otherwise end up dumped, despite being in good condition, is reclaimed and used up.

In an active and respectful way, this encounter consists of joining one of the network’s weekly routes with the intention of participating and learning how to self-manage. Because food is a right and not a commodity.
