Among the major thematic strands running through this second cycle of workshops will be: writing as process and product, the notion of discourse, the notion of theory, the order and the disorder of discourse, deconstruction, hermeneutics, etc.... These themes will constitute the guidelines of the discussion to be proposed to the working group rather a syllabus of compulsory subjects. The discussions will be accompanied by readings and textual commentaries.

The workshop is aimed at artists with an interest by sharing a space of discussion and study, as well as at art critics and historians and art students (final-year undergraduate or postgraduate) who want to experience the process of group working, research and discussion. Those taking part will be expected to attend regularly and show a willingness to read and conduct their own research outside of the sessions.

Jordi Ibáñez is professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Escola Eina.
