Open PEI Lecture by Allan Sekula

Allan Sekula is a North American artist, writer and critic. His books include Photography Against the Grain (1984), Fish Story (1995), Geography Lesson: Canadian Notes (1997), Dismal Science (1999) and The Traffic in Photographs (MIT Press, 2011), which he will present in this lecture organised by the MACBA Independent Studies Program (PEI). His solo exhibitions include the Folkwang Museum (Essen), Vancouver Art Gallery (Vancouver), the University Art Museum (Berkeley), Witte de With (Rotterdam), Moderna Museet (Stockholm), Tramway (Glasgow), Le Channel and Musée des Beaux Arts (Calais), Camerawork (LondonMunich Kunstverein (MMMMunichPalais des Beaux Arts (BruBrusselsnd Henry Art Gallery (Seattle). He is Professor of Photography and Media at the California Institute for the Arts.
