Presentation by the MACBA of a publication that is the fruit of the intervention “The Stadium, the Pavilion and the Palace” by Domènec at the German Pavilion of Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 2018. The intervention was part of the MACBA exhibition Domènec. Not Here, Not Anywhere.

This catalogue was produced through a collaboration between the Fundació Mies van der Rohe and the MACBA and reflects the impact of the images resulting from the intervention in the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. It documents the intervention extensively, with articles by the artist himself, by Juanjo Lahuerta and by Teresa Grandas, curator of the MACBA exhibition.

Between 18 April and 6 May 2018, it was possible to visit the Domènec intervention at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. His piece referred to the use of some of the venues of the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona as spaces for the internment of immigrants after the Spanish Civil War. This situation worsened when the city council decided to use the Olympic Stadium to “temporarily” house the residents of Somorrostro, who lived there until 1968. The title of the work comes from an article by J. M. Huertas Claveria published in Destino magazine on 10 December 1966.
