Activity - Related Collections | MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona

Related Collections. Open Repository offers four consultation stations at Capella MACBA providing access to the MACBA Repository, the OVNI archive, the Hamaca archive and the holdings of the ”la Caixa” Mediateca. With the aim of encouraging access and expanding knowledge of artistic and documentary content, with Related Collections, MACBA converts the Capella space into a place for consultation and viewing of material from these repositories, which are related in turn to the museum while engaging its active agents.

Users can access material either individually, by navigating and searching at each station, or collectively, in the space dedicated to viewing, where compilations developed by the MACBA Repository, the OVNI archive and the Hamaca archive will be presented on an ongoing basis.

The Possible Archives project is designed as a framework for activating various proposals, with the idea of remaining open and attentive to the participation of other institutions, organised collectives and all citizens, exploring the limits of what may be considered archivable and expanding possibilities of access, use and distribution, as well as the broadening of the archives themselves.
