Using an autobiographical piece on display at the MACBA, The Hermetic Bell. Space for a Non-Transferable Anthropology as his starting point, Francesc Torres takes a look back and brings us lucid, honest, substantial and sharp memories that interweave personal biography with the evolution of art and universal history.
A video art pioneer with exhibitions all over the world (Whitney Museum, MoMA, International Center of Photography, Nationalgalerie, The State Russian Museum...), Torres has been a leading player and a privileged witness to the evolution of contemporary art and major events such as May ’68 or the terrorist attacks of September 11 in New York, where he has lived much of his life.
