MACBA FOR FAMILIES Do it Yourself. Creative Destruction A new season of MACBA for Families begins with the Feast of La Mercè. To celebrate, we invite young and old to visit the museum and participate in Do it Yourself. Creative Destruction, a workshop in which we will discover traces of punk in contemporary art, praise the collective and forget about authorship. A fanzine workshop with photocopies, staples and tons of glue in which, for very little, you can have a lot. With the artist Antoni Hervàs and the MACBA Education team. Workshop from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 8 pm. Activity recommended for children 6 to 13 years. Museum Atrium. Free. No advance booking. FAMILY SPACE Come and relax with the little ones in our Family Space: a play and rest area with child-changing facilities, microwave and small mattresses.
Box Sized DIE featuring Caustic, by João Onofre The death metal band Caustic will reactivate the piece Box sized DIE by the artist João Onofre, which forms part of the exhibition PUNK. Its Traces in Contemporary Art. Box sized DIE references the aesthetics of Tony Smith’s sculpture Die (1962), transforming it into a sealed and soundproofed container. Caustic will put it to the test in an unusual concert, the duration of which will be determined by the consumption of air inside, while the public will only experience the vibrations emitted.
