The Living Libraries initiative was launched by the ACATHI Association to tell the stories of people from the LGBTI collective who come to Barcelona as immigrants, refugees or asylum seekers. At these gatherings, people share their experience with audiences to help break down stereotypes and prejudices. The stories from the living books in these libraries, together with the records of the meetings, make up an archive that comes to life at each new gathering. Dislocated Archive draws on this project to tell the stories of dislocated people and to fashion a political space out of oral expression by giving a voice to the materials that form part of the exhibition.

While there are ideas about psychological and emotional developmental processes held within the sculptures I make, the things themselves are actual physical explorations into thinking, feeling, communicating and relating.
