MACBA presents Els etcèteres (1970), a previously unpublished book of visual poetry by Joan Brossa that is part of his Poemes habitables cycle. The volume has been published by the Centre Internationale de Poésie Marseille (cipM), with a grant from the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes. It is the first book of visual poetry by Joan Brossa to be published since his death.

The launch will include a presentation by Manuel Guerrero, an expert on the work of Joan Brossa and curator of the exhibitions Joan Brossa. Poesia i carnaval (Museu d'Art Jaume Morera, 1999) and Joan Brossa or the Poetic Revolt (Fundació Joan Miró, 2001), and Marc Audí, who has written a doctoral thesis on Brossa's visual poetry and translated his work into French, and who is the author of the prologue of this book. The event will be presented by Glòria Bordons, board member of the Fundació Joan Brossa, and Mela Dávila, head of the MACBA Study Centre.

To coincide with the book launch, MACBA will display the original manuscript – a total of 28 visual poems that have never been shown in public –, which is currently deposited at the MACBA Study Centre along with Joan Brossa's personal archive and library.

Organized in collaboration with the Fundació Joan Brossa.
