From the supermarket to the Museum. A critical approach

Postgraduate program organized by the Escola Superior de Disseny Elisava and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona (MACBA)

The MACBA's activities, just like knowledge today, are varied and disputed. That is why we propose to use the postgraduate program to reflect on Art's conventions and genres, as well as associated objects, materials and narratives; to reflect on interpretations and readings that can be done in relation to the exhibition and, on the one hand, the processes of institutionalization/heritage-ization and, on the other, the processes of the work's very creation. We would like to emphasize the Museum as a heritage-izing body as well as a means of creation, debate and life, bringing us closer to existing tensions between Museum and collection, Museum and instruments, Museum and conflicts, the Museum inside, and that which is outside.
