From September 2020 to January 2021

Mallarmé révisé or Malarmado Revised is an action which, according to Ferrer’s instructions, involves ‘placing a sett previously marked as a die on one’s head’. An ironic revision of the work of one of the main aesthetic mentors of modernity, Stéphane Mallarmé, who in his final poem, A Throw of the Dice Will Never Abolish Chance (1897), investigated the ways of generating a form of poetry free of typographical and rhythmic impositions, thus paving the way towards modern literature. It is also a clear reference to the student revolts of May 1968. Her use of the sett/dice responds to the slogan ‘Under paving stones, the beach!’, calling for a more open, tolerant and egalitarian society.
