B-Anime, Barcelona Anime Festival, will hold its first edition in October 2015. Its primary objective is to give visibility to anime previously unseen in Barcelona, productions of high artistic quality that in many cases have been selected for and/or awarded prizes in festivals around the world. Many of these pieces are inaccessible to the public, a public unaddressed in the audiovisual and cultural landscape of Catalonia. The B-Anime Festival aims to provide cultural activities for teens and young people, creating a new space aimed at audiences between 8 and 18 who are fans of anime culture or just want to get into it.
The B-Anime Festival is organised by MAGOEXPERIENCE and MAGOPRODUCTION, in collaboration with the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) and Habitació 1418. It has the support of the Japanese Consulate in Barcelona, the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC), Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), Televisió de Catalunya (TV3), Japan Foundation, Madrid. With the colaboration of the distributor Selecta Visión, Facultat Blanquerna de Barcelona, Filmoteca de Catalunya, Salón del Manga Barcelona, Brigada SOS, Recetas Japonesas, Espai Daruma and Casa Asia, among others.
