Program for secondary education, high school students and art academies

Art and graphic design. Intersections, is a visit/workshop programme that seeks to bring visual and graphic arts students closer to some of the works of the Volume! Works from the collections of "la Caixa" Foundation and MACBA exhibition. The visit is planned from the standpoint of design, and it aims to examine the common areas of relationship between artists like Peter Friedl,Tony Cragg,Allan McCollum,Latifa Echackhch or Cristina Iglesias and graphic designers.

The project consists of a guided tour to the Volume! Works from the collections of "la Caixa" Foundation and MACBA exhibition. (40 minutes) followed by a practical workshop (50 minutes) which will take a closer look at the design artist and signature design, putting into practice ideas that have emerged during the tour of the galleries and carrying out a series of graphic exercises using only plastic materials and unassisted by the computer.

The visit/workshop is designed and conducted by Jordi Ferreiro, a graphic designer and art educator who has led workshops at festivals such as Sónar, Primavera Sound and Swatch. Ferreiro has also designed album covers (El Guincho, Extraperlo, Delorean), and he is a member of the artists collective Comte d'Urgell.
