About Educational Programs
For the 2003-2004 school year MACBA's education programs for students and educators continues the line of inquiry initiated in previous years. Following the Museum's exhibition programming, the programs will work above all from the MACBA Collection and the exhibition of Catalan painter Antoni Tàpies for which we have prepared educational projects that are addressed specifically to students of different educational levels: early childhood, primary education, secondary education and high school. Nevertheless, we will continue to offer guided tours to all of the temporary exhibitions that are presented in the museum.
In collaboration with the Institute of Educational Sciences (Institut de Ciències de l'Educació) of the Universitat de Barcelona, we have also designed new training courses for educators that include practical sessions, offering proposals and suggestions for classroom application. In addition, MACBA presents a new line of work on visual culture that is specifically aimed at secondary and high school educators.
We continue to offer workshops for children that are conceived in relation to MACBA's exhibitions on weekends, in the summer, during the Mercè holiday festivities as well as Christmas.
